Job Summary:
In this role, the Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) will primarily use a variety of data analytics platforms (Google Data Studio, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx) to perform data modelling and visualizations for Pontem clients. This may include, but is not limited to documenting business requirements, defining scope and objectives, and developing business intelligence tools to parallel overall business strategies. This person would be familiar with relational database concepts, extract transform load (ETL) processes, client-server concepts and should be able to rely on professional judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Responsibilities:
· Create dashboard and visualizations for clients in a variety of industries with a focus on clearly communicating information that businesses can use to improve their outcomes
· Explore the strategic and operational objectives of the client to determine applications for data modelling, analyses and visualizations for better decision making
· Identify areas for improvement around processes and digital transformation, critically prioritize initiatives based on impact on the business, and recommend plan of action
· Perform process walkthroughs and construct workflow charts and diagrams while studying system capabilities
· Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget
· Interpret, evaluate and interrelate data analyses results and research information to develop business recommendations in the short term and long term
· Give presentations on work performed, specifically highlighting the areas of most interest to the client and where decisions can be made
· Research and Explore Microsoft and Google offerings along with other advanced analytics or machine learning applications to determine value add services to clients
· Perform business development activities as required
· Contribute to Pontem’s development by thinking of industry growth areas, and providing input on strategic decisions
BIA Technical Skills and Proficiencies:
· Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or 3+ years of work experience
· Experience in data analytics and visualization tools such as Microsoft BI or Tableau
· Microsoft Power Platform and Azure database experience strongly preferred
· Database management and Python programming experience are considered assets
· Capable of simplifying complex data into a succinct, clear story
· Ability to improve operations and influence change in a collaborative way, both internally and externally
